NFP Soccer

NFP Soccer on-line library was started in 2005 by Barney Jones to provide detailed, easy to use football session plans for  coaches and teachers. The site has now grown to over 500 session planners. which are added to and updated each week.

Barney Jones

Barney started his coaching career in 1968 and achieved his A licence in 1971 aged 24. He played for English Schools and English Universities before having an extensive playing and coaching career in senior non league football including managing Lewes FC from 1982–87.

Having been a P. E. teacher for 19 years he was appointed the Football Development Officer for Newcastle upon Tyne in 1987. In 1994 he started The Northumberland Football Partnership offering football coaching programmes and coach education courses throughout the North East of England.

From1998-2000 he worked for the Premier League as the Director of Football at their Regional Centre of Excellence in Chester Le Street.  From 1997-2007 he was Head Coach at Northumbria University taking them into the Northern League in 2006.

Barney has been a Coach Educator for the last 30 years delivering coaching and teaching courses for the Football Association, Local Authorities and other football organisations. He is now the FA Lead Tutor for Northumberland FA delivering the Level 2 and 3 Coaching Awards and leading their coach mentoring programme.
 

The Coaching Panel

Barney has recruited an outstanding group of coaches to help develop the  on-line Library,  they are all highly qualified ,experienced and innovative and pleased to share there ideas and expertise with other coaches. They have all contributed  to the Football Association`s Coach Education Programme delivering  different courses.  Each year  the coaching panel are fully involved in delivering  practical sessions  at  Coaching Events  and Coaching Association Meetings.  Details of the coaching panel can be found on the contributor`s profiles page.
